The Hearth Community Work Party June 6 & 7, 2026

Join us at The Hearth for a morning of meaningful work, connection, and community as we prepare the land for two beautiful upcoming gatherings: NVC Family Camp (June 13–18) and Bogwarts Kids Camp with Cynthia later in June.

Whether you've been to The Hearth before or are simply curious to connect with the community, we'd love to have you with us.

Please arrive by 9:00 AM sharp so that we can begin together as a community. The opening and closing circles are an important part of the experience, helping us connect, align on the day's projects, celebrate what was accomplished, and deepen our relationships with one another.

Together we'll be tending the land, preparing camp spaces, organizing communal areas, beautifying the property, and helping create a welcoming environment for the families, children, and community members who will gather here throughout the summer.

We believe that community is built through shared effort, laughter, conversation, and the simple act of showing up for one another. These work parties are an opportunity to contribute, connect, and become part of the ongoing vision of The Hearth—a place dedicated to belonging, self-connection, creativity, and meaningful human connection.

Join us at The Hearth for a vibrant evening of music, learning, and community with Kanekoa—a genre-blending group known for their virtuosic ukulele, rich harmonies, and high-energy live looping that bridges Hawaiian roots with reggae, blues, and rock.

This special gathering offers a rare opportunity to both learn from and experience Kanekoa in an intimate setting. Whether you’re a seasoned musician or simply love great music, this evening invites you into the heart of rhythm, play, and connection.

🌿 Event Flow (5–8 PM) 5:30 – 6:30 PM | Ukulele Workshop ($30) An interactive, all-levels workshop led by Kanekoa. Learn techniques, rhythms, and creative approaches to the ukulele—bring your instrument if you have one, or come ready to absorb and enjoy.

6:30 – 7:00 PM | Break + Community Hang Connect, relax, and enjoy the land. A perfect moment to integrate and mingle.

7:00 – 8:00 PM | Live Concert ($30) Kanekoa takes the stage for a soulful, high-energy performance featuring their signature looping, improvisation, and infectious grooves.

About this event THE RIVER WE HEAL WITH

Art exhibition & Benefit Concert July 2nd 2026 at the Miners Foundry

The River We Heal With is an art project by award winning visual artist Julie Romano. She brings together personal storytelling and the restorative energy of the natural world. At its heart, the project gathers intimate, transformative stories from individuals who have experienced the healing properties of the Yuba River’s waters.

The gallery opens at 5:30 PM, followed by an opportunity to join a panel conversation with Julie and participating storytellers. Come enjoy this exhibition, buy prints, and connect with the community.

The evening will continue with a benefit concert in honor of the Yuba River—an opportunity to give back to this vital and cherished part of our community. Talented local artists : Ayla Nereo, Marya Stark, Honey of the Heart, Child Mosey, Ruby Chase, Tete Bero, and Diamonde, will come together in celebration, raising funds for South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL). SYRCL is leading the effort to rehabilitate the lower Yuba River for salmon, steelhead, riparian habitat, and wildlife.

Honey of the Heart will be performing and doing workshops again this year at the Oregon Country Fair. There will be multiple stage performances and locations so check back regularly for updates:
