Gratitude and Review:
We had a celebratory and successful first house party concert at The Hearth. Kids were in the pool, guest appearances were had, cupcake ceremony commenced, and every seat in the house was made use of, even the squish zone got overtaken by a cuddle pile of kiddos and dogs. huge love & thanks to Toni Tone and Cello Joe, along with Ananda and Lindsay for their support, magic and love to help this dream become a reality.

Maren played the women's' show fundraiser for KVMR put on by the womens Show which was a sweet event. Huge thanks and love to April Susan, Diane and all the KVMR crew and staff for their support, care and love, and all the artists for your vulnerable sharing, and supportive camaraderie.
Honey of the Heart and BrightSide Blue performed a show with Yemanjo. It was great to to connect with Ben and Irene of Yemanjo and with our dear friends and collaborators, BrightSide Blue was super inspiring and fun to play with the ecstatic dance-style beats and dynamic sound at the Hillside School in Berkeley CA. Hanging & connecting as three “music couples” was very affirming and supportive.
Honey of the Heart got to do another one of our emergent Hybrid Live & Ecstatic Dance sets in San Rafael for their Sunday Dance church which was so moving, dynamically satisfying, and inspiring. We will be back in January 4th and 5th, 2025! Stay tuned for more information on tickets to both the San Rafael house concert and Ecstatic Dance emergence.
A very special event took place at Wilbur Hot Springs called ReWild, which was beyond magical, deeply nourishing and reciprocal to say the least, and as artists, we left with our cup more full than when we arrived. Here is a little write up from them:
“This past month, we participated in a “musical walk,” with our talented friends, Justin and Maren of Honey of the Heart. We walked to several places near the hotel, singing songs to the trees, sun, plants and animals, and something magical happened to remind us of our (re)membership in this ecosystem. When we arrived at the geothermal source, there were a number of Killdeer (a species of plover) going about their normal routine, flying solo here and there through the creek bed and sounding their familiar cries in the morning air. Justin and Maren took up one particular song and we all began to sing along, and suddenly, all the Killdeer, in unison, rose up into the air and began playfully circling around us throughout the entire song. When the song ended, they dispersed and resumed their independent activities as if nothing happened. None of us have ever witnessed this behavior - they were clearly singing with us, dancing in the air as we all sang together. What we often perceive as “nature” is a myriad of beings, waiting patiently to be in relationship with each of us.”
